At Messy Fun we are enthusiastic about promoting the importance of child-led play, so we provide a space that encourages that development through messy play.
We have a purpose-built space which allows us to create an environment that encourages your child to fully immerse themselves in messy play. We don’t limit creativity at Messy Fun, your child’s exploration and imagination is spread throughout the building. And the best part is, we do all the clean up.
We are open seven days a week and from the moment you step inside the building your child’s imagination and creativity will be fostered and their learning encouraged in a safe warm and friendly
environment.
Messy play is an exceptionally beneficial activity for children as it stimulates their senses and offers them a multitude of opportunities to explore several sensory experiences. With prepared solutions like finger paint, slime, and other sensory inviting objects, children can engage in exciting experiments with various textures and materials.
More importantly, infants and young toddlers heavily rely on messy play to develop essential skills like eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
Early childhood education experts aptly point out that play is the child’s work and it holds especially true for infants and toddlers. Therefore, allowing them to engage in messy play allows them to learn valuable aspects of problem-solving, creativity, and self-expression in a fun manner.
At Messy Fun we tailor the stations to suit children from 9 months to 6 years of age. Something we have learned very early on is that no two children are the same, so we encourage children to immerse themselves in the experience as they wish and at their own pace. This age bracket is just a guide, and all children are welcome.
All our classes are fully inclusive, we do not split the classes depending on age, we run an open child- led play class and all the children play independently, parallel to others or cooperatively with each other.
Research shows that playing with older children enhances cognitive, language and motor development because younger children are able to observe and imitate the older children, and we see this a lot at Messy Fun.
The older children therefore feel a sense of achievement, as they are given the opportunity to take on a leadership role.
